CLEVELAND, OHIO — Alissa Czisny won the ladies’ title at the US Figure Skating Championships Saturday as she overcame errors in her free skate with an elegant artistic presentation.
She was third in the free skate, but was able to maintain the lead she established in the short program and won with a total of 178.06 points.

The 67-year-old Ottawa resident aims through his position as vice-president for figure skating for the International Skating Union to reinvigorate a sport that is struggling to attract new fans because its scoring system would be difficult for even Albert Einstein to decipher. |
